Where in the WORLD are my Bobby-pins?!

By 6/24/2014 , , , , ,

In recent conversations with fellow female friends, the topic of lost bobby-pins and ponytail holders came up. And how frustrating it is to buy 100 bobby-pins, which for all intents and purposes, should last you until the end of time. Yet......1 week later you're left with....5. Five bobby-pins. And the 20 pack of ponytail holders which should also last you until your buried (because who in the world needs 20 ponytails in your hair at once?), has suddenly become the 1 left, only because you make it a habit of keeping it on your wrist 24/7.

We decided there was but one answer to this bewildering phenomenon.

There is a hair thing eating creature.

It's stealthy. It's fast. And it does its work whenever you aren't looking.

Upon further thinking on this idea, here's what I came up with.

It has to be small, because how else would it get around all shapes and sizes of bathrooms.  That being said, it would have to be small enough to fit through vents, because I'm certain it comes through the vents as to come and go without much notice.

Along with it's small size, it MUST be a fairly hairy little thing. Because when it doesn't feel like eating ALL 20 ponytail holders and 100 bobby-pins, it does its own hair. Pinning random curls (most likely not curls but rather tufts of hair that have been washing maybe once in the time of its existence) and making ponytails in whatever position it sees fit. The rest simply serve as the midnight snack.

If it's doing it's own hair, clearly it has little arms and little legs to move and attack our drawers with a vengeance. Two little beady eyes, with a large mouth, in order to quickly dispose of the available hair objects and get out before the human girl returns. Now, seeming how this is MY imagination, my hair creature has dirty blonde hair because that's what it's consuming in my bathroom. I see no reason why every woman doesn't have their own creature, with corresponding hair color.

Name? Of course I'm naming my hair creature. Her name is Hilda. Hilda the Hair Creature. And if I ever catch her, we're going to have quite the talk.

Could there be other reasons that our bobby-pins go missing so quickly??

Well certainly.

But this is more fun.
