Meet Me

The following interview was recorded with the author of this blog.

Interviewer: Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me Audrey. We're hoping to give the world a better look at what you're really like behind those blog posts. I'll be asking some fairly unconventional questions in hopes to reflect you as a person.

Audrey: I'm happy to be here, though I can't guarantee any surprising facts. Hold onto your hat. *chuckle*

*Interviewer chuckles*

Interviewer: So lets start with something simple, what's your favorite cereal?

Audrey: Hmmm, at the moment I tend to love strawberry Mini Wheats with Cinnamon Life. As far as sugar cereal goes, Reeses Puffs hands DOWN.

Interviewer: If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

Audrey: Funny you should ask that, because I believe one of the most wonderful smells is a fresh box of crayons. If I had to be only one color.......I think it would have to be Melon. *Interviewer raises eyebrows* Trust me, it's a color. You should find it in the 64 pack easily. It was my favorite color as a child. Why? I don't know, it just always appealed to me.

Interviewer: I trust your crayon knowledge is far exceeding mine. *laughs* Okay, if you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?

Audrey: As a history fanatic, I could argue I want to meet everyone. But I'll narrow it down to a male and female. First, I would die on the floor to meet Walt Disney. I know that sounds cliche, but from all the reading and research I've done on him, I would do anything to get a glimpse into that limitless bowl of creativity and innovation. The man was a one of a kind genius. You don't see that very often. As for a female, its a hard toss up between Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. Both extraordinarily classy women who did their best to stay good people, despite the intense Hollywood environment. Both went to great lengths to help people, yet both led different lives in the end. They were beautiful women, in the most elegant and real sort of way. I admire both of them greatly.

Interviewer: Excellent choices, I imagine there's many more on the list.

Audrey: Oh, many more, many more.

Interviewer: So on a related note, what is one of your favorite quotes? Something that you turn to when you need a kick start.

Audrey: I guess there dozens and dozens of quotes I could tell you. There are so many inspiring words and people out there, I love it all. But one that I think encompasses a lot is from the novel, and now film, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and that is "Beautiful things don't ask for attention." I think that is incredible. There are so many wonderful and beautiful things in this world that go unnoticed. Whether it's a person or an experience or a place, they are everywhere, waiting for us to take notice. That's where our personal motivation and drive to find those things has to come to life. How's that for philosophical?

Interviewer: That was beautifully said, and I couldn't agree more. Let's change the mood a little with this next question, what would you do with a million dollars?

Audrey: Oh dear, the sky is the limit I guess. I think the first thing I would do is set aside money for my kids college later, and then spend the rest of it, literally the rest of it, traveling the world. There are so many places and things I want to see of this world. I would just go crazy.

Interviewer: It's a beautiful world we live in! Okay, if you could be any animal, what would you be?

Audrey: Hands down, a hedgehog.

Interviewer: A hedgehog?

Audrey: Yep, they are literally one of the most adorable creatures to grace this planet. Harmless. Small. And a downright adorable.

Interviewer: That's got to be the first time I've heard that one. Alright, last question, what would you name the autobiography of your life?

Audrey: Oh man, that's a hard one on the spot. I hope this is license to change. *laughs*

Interviewer: *laughs* Of course, I'll make sure no one puts it in stone against you.

Audrey: Well, I guess at the moment if I had to pick a title, it would be "A Beautiful Moment". I'm just one small moment in this vast world. But I think it's been a beautiful moment so far. Does that work for you?

Interviewer: That works great, thank you so much for taking the time. I will continue to enjoy your writing!

Audrey: Thank you so much.
